Still need time to upload everything I'd like to show so that's why I only bring these Autumn photos now. Taken more than a year ago in the beautiful Abbey House Gardens in Malmesbury - famous for the gardens naked gardeners but I loved it for its variety of plants, shapes and views. Magical garden that is a must for every garden lover.

Last Saturday we visited the Benington Lordship Gardens - in the pretty village of Benington - famous for its rare snowdrop collection. A beautiful sunny day, a nice walk around the gardens and the village aaand a yumm lunch in the village pub.., a perfect Saturday.

Turville

Today we visited the tiny village of Turville in Buckinghamshire. Located in the beautiful Chiltern Hills, the village has a great charm and is therefore used a lot for filming such films as Miss Marple or Midsumer Murders. First visit and definitely not the last one.

The very first evening of my holidays, Corinne took me to this wonderful restaurant in Bidart - La Tantine de la Playa in Bidart. Dinner on the terrace, ocean view and the sound of the waves.. Needless to mention that our dinner was more than delicious and here's what we had:

Barnsley is a small village near Bibury and it's famous for the Barnsley House and Gardens (3rd image and that I haven't had the chance to visit yet) - home of the late Rosemary Verey, the famous English garden designer.

The day I visited Cerney House Gardens the sun was shining too bright, not the best light for photography. I fear that these photos (mostly because of the lights) won't bring back everything the way I'd like to but I hope that you enjoy walking there through my images. This place is the most peaceful garden I have ever been to, hidden in a wonderful Gloucestershire valley.

Cherhill - White Horse

Cut in 1780, Cherhill White horse is the second oldest in Wiltshire. Whiltshire White Horses - they are 13 in the county and most of them are chalk hill carvings. We visited this one (and another one nearby) last weekend. The clouds and the sun were playing very speedy hide and seek with the help of the wind..

I found this house in the middle of the darkest woods I have probably ever seen. While taking the picture I was expecting a witch opening the door and inviting me for a cup of tea or the forester inviting me for.. eh, a cup of tea, of course. But there was not a single soul just the silence and the unforgettable smell of the deep greenness..

Flowers of Hatch - set in a beautiful location is a place where you can pick your own flowers. The place looks like a well kept neglected meadow.. if that makes sens to anyone. But this is a beautiful corner of the world (again), with hills and forests and silence. Pure silence.

Luckington - Spring

And so Luckington revisited and so Luckington Court is still protected from the unwanted views by shrubs and trees and rose bush branches full of thorns (of which I brought some home - in my legs :) Anyway, both the church and churchyard are very nice and peaceful places to visit even without the Pride and Prejudice settings.

Luckington - Winter

The first time I visited Luckington was in February. It was raining and I was covered in mud but I did enjoy my walks around the village. Luckington is famous for the house that was the Bennet family's home (Longbourn) in Pride and Prejudice. If you'd like to see anything of the house, go in Winter. It can only be viewed from a distance and the real owners are doing their best by hiding it with trees and shrubs. So if you get there in Winter, go to the churchyard, and by the fence between the house and the churchyard, try to jump as high as you can. You might see the roof. You can also climb on the fence and peep through the bushes but be careful as the fence is not very safe to climb on. (I managed the take the first picture by risking my own life :)
